ZAMMLER GROUP at Ukrainian Transport Forum 2025: key challenges and prospects for logistics

On 10 June, Odessa hosted the Ukrainian Transport Forum 2025, a key industry event that served as a platform for open dialogue between the government, business, and leading players in the logistics market. The event was organised by the Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine (AIFFU) in partnership with the European Business Association (EBA) and the Maritime Days in Odesa project.

The forum brought together over 200 participants: representatives of the government, business, port and terminal managers, railway operators, freight forwarders, insurers, lawyers and investors. The programme included three panel discussions with top speakers, including experts from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia, the customs service and major logistics companies.

The main topics included logistics during wartime, customs digitalisation, Ukraine’s integration into the European market, global risks and competition, and the role of maritime transport in the country’s recovery process.

ZAMMLER GROUP was represented at the forum by Dmytro Trusov, head of the company’s Odessa division. In his speech, he outlined the main trends and challenges that will determine the development of logistics in Ukraine in the coming years:

  • Digitalisation and transition to 5PL — from traditional logistics to a data-driven approach: implementation of e-TTN, automation of customs procedures, integration of WMS/TMS/ERP, development of digital platforms and AI-based analytics;
  • Green Logistics and ESG — environmental standards, development of green infrastructure, compliance with European market requirements;
  • Infrastructure reconstruction — investments in hubs, ports, railways, motorways and border terminals.

Dmytro Trusov also highlighted the competitive advantages of national logistics operators: flexibility, adaptability, in-depth market knowledge, and real-world experience operating in wartime conditions. At the same time, the industry faces challenges — limited resources for scaling, IT lag, and a lack of partnerships with global players.

‘What does Ukrainian business need today to grow? Financial resources, investment in people and infrastructure, access to international markets, strategic planning for 5-10 years and, of course, victory and peace. This is the foundation without which development and contribution to the reconstruction of the economy are impossible,’ said Dmytro Trusov.

The ZAMMLER GROUP representative also shared what the company is already working on to strengthen Ukrainian logistics:

  • construction of its own logistics complex in the Kyiv region;
  • staff development and cooperation with relevant educational institutions;
  • implementation of international quality and safety standards (ISO, TAPA, AEO, OHSAS);
  • implementation of ESG projects — both in the environmental sphere and in social support;
  • development of its own IT solutions and active international expansion.

ZAMMLER GROUP continues to participate in the transformation of the logistics industry, focusing on innovation, sustainable development and strengthening the country’s infrastructure.
