Excursion to Boryspil International Airport as a part of Logistics Development Program from EBA

An excursion to Boryspil International Airport was arranged as a part of Logistics Development Program organized by European Business Association in general partnership with the group of logistics companies ZAMMLER. During the excursion everyone interested had a chance to watch the aircraft unloading process, visit the cargo terminal and Fire-Rescue Department. Participants of the excursion made themselves aware of the principles of freight allocation and lashing and the other specific aspects of air freight. While vising the Fire-Rescue Department all the participants were showed Rosenbauer Pantera, the unique and the biggest fire truck in Ukraine developing a speed of 120 km/h, carrying 12 tons of water, 1,5 ton of foam agent, 225 kg of powder, with a cabin withstanding a hit with any object weighing up to 4 tons. During the excursion all the participants visited the territory of the cargo terminal, saw the warehouse premises, managed to familiarize with the principles of freight movement. Having seen separate logistics processes for themselves, the participants of the excursion got an insight into air freight, specific aspects as well as the challenges emerging while carrying out various processes. Further on, the participants of Logistics Development Program shall have lectures on storage logistics and customs support.
