Meeting of the Export and Investment Support Committee of the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On February 4, the second meeting of the Export and Investment Support Committee of the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry chaired by CEO ZAMMLER GROUP  Viktor Shevchenko took place. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Senik, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine Valery Korol, Vice President of the Kiev Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Kolyadenko, Director of the Center for Export Support KССI Irina Zelenina, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and members of the Committee.

During the opening of the meeting, Viktor Shevchenko congratulated all present:

“We all understand that 2021 will be a challenge for Ukrainian exporters. Therefore, we are actively involved in the work aimed at the interaction of Ukrainian business with the public sector, colleagues from other countries and the search for new markets for our entrepreneurs.”

Vladimir Kolyadenko, vice-president of the Kiev CCI, noted that everything planned at the first meeting of the Committee is being actively implemented:

“There is already a Telegram-channel of the Committee, the site is being created, a questionnaire has been created, a survey of exporters is being conducted. Various forms of using CCI opportunities are being tested in cooperation with government agencies: Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Customs Service, other organizations, our representatives abroad. “

Dmitry Senik, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, stated the priority of supporting Ukrainian exporters in the work of the Ministry.

“Economic diplomacy is now coming to the fore and requires additional resources and attention. If in the past export support activities in our country were somewhat reactive, now there is a vision and a proactive position in this direction. Rely on our assistance, we are maximally focused to support our exporters in entering new markets, “- said the Deputy Foreign Minister.

Dmitry Senik also said that in 2020 the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies began online briefings between Ukrainian exporters and ambassadors to different countries. The purpose is to exchange information about the specifics of local markets. This year, online briefings are primarily planned with all Ukrainian embassies in Africa, because in 2021 Ukraine intends to strengthen its presence on the African continent.

Valery Korol, vice-president of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also noted that diplomatic missions abroad are an effective tool for Ukrainian businessmen. After all, working with business in the host country is an important aspect for establishing work between Ukrainian and foreign entrepreneurs. He also noted the need for exporters to be able to adjust their work to new conditions.

“We all need to realize that there will be no postcoid period, the coronavirus has entered our lives and we need to continue working, given that covid is always with us. Therefore, one of the main tasks now is to increase the efficiency of our activities in the new environment.”

Representatives of foreign CCIs, namely Irina Burshtein (Israel), Bakhtari Hediyatollah (Dubai), Paolo Di Lullo (Italy), Misha Migdal (USA), Vladimir Fedyuk (Kingdom of Spain) spoke about the mechanism of interaction with exporters.

Irina Zelenina, Director of the KCCI Export Support Center, told the committee members about Gulfood 2021 and the opportunities that open up for its participants.

Also  at the meeting as Deputy Chairman of the Committee Anna Gorkun, CEO and owner of the wine brand “46 Parallel Wine Group”, CEO “Inkerman Ukraine” was approved. Her company is pursuing an ambitious goal – to make Ukrainian wine the calling card of Ukraine on the wine map of the world.

“I accept this position with pride and respect. I want Ukrainian products to find a worthy place on the international map. I am sure that Ukraine has something to be proud of. On the example of my own company and the efforts that I will try to help other companies to move towards expanding development and of course gaining recognition of their products in the international arena, ” – said Anna Gorkun.

In conclusion, the chairman of the committee Viktor Shevchenko called on exporters to join the survey on the problems they face when exporting.
